Admit it….we are all very lacking in persuasive communication skills. Both progressives and conservatives are guilty of the “I’m right and you’re stupid” approach. Round and round we go, spewing our “indisputable” opinions, but what effect is it having? Are we winning anyone over with the approach that they either agree or they are stupid/insane/evil/racist? Is the growing division between us healing our country in any way?

I just finished “The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin“ and was struck with the simple yet clever communication skills he put into practice. Considering that his fellow Philadelphians put him in charge of just about everything, I’m sure we’d agree that he was on to something.

According to The Weekly Standard, Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett had quite a bit to say this past Sunday at the pulpit of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. A local reporter seen in the video below describes it as more of a “political rally or early campaign stop.”

Today’s latest “Progressive Hypocrisy of the Day” feature is the letter signed by members of Congress, demanding that Lowes reinstate its advertising dollars for the TLC show “All American Muslim”, despite the fact that ratings had tanked and other advertisers had pulled out as well. I had always thought that private businesses were in charge of their own advertising budgets, but apparently some of our representatives now see themselves a some kind of governmental ad agency.

Whenever planning to attend an event, it’s always important to know who your hosts are. Sometimes you are dragged along to a party and have no idea who is hosting, and that can end up being a disaster. In the case of this month’s “October2011″ event planned to begin at the end of this week in Washington, DC, you may find some of the hosts quite interesting.

On their Facebook page, one wall post says “We will not co-opted! While we seek support from everyone agrees with our agenda, we will not be co-opted by political parties or organizations tied to them.” However, when visiting their site, October2011.org, you’ll find Code Pink, FireDogLake and others among the many involved organizations listed. The person who registered their website is David Swanson, currently the director of Washington’s progressive Democrats.com. Is it just me, or does that sound a bit political? In addition to the not-so-bipartisan David, the site itself (as well as David’s own site) is hosted by MayFirst.org, operated by Marxist Alfredo Lopez.

Let the media spin begin, following this week’s ruling by a federal judge which allows most of the Alabama Immigration Law to go forward. On Thursday evening’s ABC World News, Diane Sawyer incorrectly referred to the law as the Alabama “Anti-Immigrant” law, which would almost give her viewers the impression that Alabama’s citizens are against people rather than for the economic survival of their state.

The biggest gaffe in tonight's speech had to be Obama's disrespect for the Supreme Court, to their faces and in front of the world. Not to mention that what he said about their decision was untrue. Completely disgusting and unbelievable.
This, along with his vow to continue to shove Cap & Trade and Health Care down our throats, should tell everyone exactly who they are dealing with.

It doesn't matter what you personally think of the Tea Party movement. The fact that NPR is blatantly promoting propaganda against a group of citizens based on a difference in political views should be very disturbing to anyone. Look out, Code Pink....you may be next, after they get rid of all the conservatives.

Do the libs not realize that not all of them will have a place in the new Obama regime, once the dust settles? Just as the left used Cindy Sheehan against Bush, then dropped her like a hot potato, they will do the same to any of you. Illegals, minorities, feminists, gay activists....you will all be expendable at some point if you stand by and watch this kind of thing go on.

History Channel - FAIL- Yet Again

I am sure a lot of you have taken notice of the downhill slide of the History Channel. They used to actually have interesting programming. It has gradually moved into conjecture and opinion presented as fact. They have presented countless documentaries attempting to discredit Christianity and its' symbols as well as many once-respected historic figures.

Next week (Dec. 13), they will present a documentary called "The People Speak", from socialist Howard Zinn, featuring the always delightful Danny Glover, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Bruce Springsteen and more. No agenda there...

Howard Zinn hopes to move his own special brand of Hate America revisionist history from the college level all the way down to pre-K. You can read all about it on Big Hollywood here:

We have made it clear to our sons that the History Channel is NOT an objective and accurate source, and it is a shame that many people will never realize this. In my opinion, it is immoral and unethical to use their platform to push agendas and rewrite history, and they do it constantly. Please get the word out that this documentary will be far from accurate, and is actually promoting socialism/Marxism.

New Attack on Christmas the Worst Yet: Updated

In past years, there have been complaints on the "attack on Christmas", especially with stores refusing to acknowledge the holiday in their ads. This year it's gone way past that.

Yesterday it was Mrs. Claus sleeping with a snowman and today it's Rude Frosty. Radicals are telling us not to celebrate Christmas due to the environment and humanists are running ads on buses to defeat Christmas. (Links to each of these below.)

I'm sorry, but I think this is more than a matter of bad taste. It appears to be an all out assault on the religious holiday, tearing down any and every symbol of it. We should all be screaming. Even those who are not Christians should be screaming at this assault on the culture and on their children.

Either the media no longer has any sense of morality or they are doing this in a conscious effort to destroy the innocence and wonder of a religious holiday. Either way, it's not a good thing.

Our Homeland Security chief was in Saudi Arabia this weekend, explaining how she is working to protect Muslims from backlash.
Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't she be here in the US, worrying about how to protect our troops from terrorist attacks?
Needless to say, I do not want to see anyone harrassed unfairly, but so far there has been no evidence of this. The media and administration seems entirely focused on this and will not even call it "terrorism". A killer is being painted as someone with PTSD rather than a terrorist.
Anyone with common sense needs to start asking what is going on here?

Obama Uses Ft. Hood to Get Bill Passed

Just read this morning that Obama used Ft. Hood to put a guilt trip on representatives to pass this bill. "Real" Americans die for their country, as in Ft. Hood, and are not afraid to vote for something, even if it might cost them reelection.

On Being Judgmental

I think it's been incredibly hard for many of us to fight being judgmental in today's polarized world. This quote might be helpful, as it was to me:

Misleading Posts About Beck in Attempt to Justify Their "Hate Speech" Argument

RE: Our post about churches promoting the Obama agenda and accusing others of hate speech, I see that many are using the following type of headlines such as this one, "Glenn Beck compares Fox News to Holocaust victims". These false posts are all over the internet.
This is a ridiculous and twisted take on what he actually said. The word "holocaust" was never used and the meaning of what he said was very different. His point was that if we allow others to be shut down and freedom of speech to be taken, then we may be the next victims. Anyone who has seen it knows this was the point, and are obviously trying to smear him. Watch the video and judge for yourself:
