Is Your Church Pushing the Obama Agenda?

Yesterday, Jeffrey Lord posted an excellent article on the Spectator site called "FCC-Church Conspiracy to Silence Talk Radio and Fox". This is a must read. Were you aware that your church may be involved in the attempt to shut down free speech?

From his article:
• The media package sent to UCC church members by Guess also solicits support to remove Lou Dobbs from television and intimidate sponsors of Glenn Beck's TV show into pulling their advertising. The link for this is here: http://www.uccfiles.com/swms/
• The following religious denominations have agreed to sign on to the request to the FCC. They are: the United Church of Christ, U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops, the Islamic Society of North America, United Methodist Communications, Presbyterian Church USA, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and several other "faith groups".
• These religious groups are to convey the idea that talk radio and Fox News are guilty of "hate speech" as illustrated by links naming or presenting Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Michael Savage in this fashion."

The full article HERE.

This is surprising to many, but it's not new. They have been acting on behalf of their national membership for years. Check out the activities of the National Council of Churches from Discover the Networks:

Here is even more on the church connection to ACORN and other groups, which has gone on for years:

As if this latest attempt isn't enough, they apparently also have an agenda to do with net neutrality. Check out their promotion here:

In their little animation, they claim that you have a right to broadband....a right. Although I can see some advantages to net neutrality, I am extremely suspicious of the motives behind it. It is being pushed as hard as their other causes, and there is obviously much more to it.

Are you a member of one of these participating churches? If so, you might want to ask your pastor exactly why you are involved in endorsing a far left political agenda.

  1. The NFL decides who becomes an owner not the other way around.

All this blowhard (Rush Hudson Limbaugh A.KA. Jeff Christie) has to offer is his money and his opinions, (which in my opinion are on the fringes of racism, one mans opinion). There are many more groups biding for the Rams, not just his group. Lets face it there are more men with money (Marshall Faulk) that will gladly fill the slot and the Rams will win or lose depending on how well they work as a team and not on whether or not Rush is an owner.

As for Vick, well he is a player (he has talent not like you, Rush or I, unless you are a NFL player?) and he served his time and the NFL decided we live in the land of second chances, so why not (I personally don’t like it but, oh well). Life has never been fair (NEWS FLASH!)

Now as to the “Free Speech” argument, I guess many of you like myself heard Rush on Thursday “Almost in tears”, priceless. But the last three days he now is in his normal ranting and will continue until someone surpasses him, “Free Speech” continues, so quit the lies that “Free Speech” is being stifled, it simply is not true, of course, you may not have a radio, so you might not believe.

  2. I appreciate the fact that you aren't a fan of Rush, but I think it is irrelevant. The bottom line is that there is a huge, organized effort to shut down those who are disagreeing with this administration, including the use of mainstream churches. Yes, when the White House launches a public war with a network and the churches are asked to participate, I think that is a problem for free speech.
I agree that Rush didn't have a "right" to buy into the NFL, but for him to be rejected due to comments he didn't make, and no one could find any evidence of? That is disturbing, whether you are a fan of his or not.

  3. By the way, it looks like the Rev. from your Chasing Evil website is a fake:

  4. A different take on your post:

  5. Thanks for your input, Rev. Currie. I would like links to some of the references made in the article you suggest. As far as the link to the Southern Poverty Law Center, I do not consider them a credible source whatsoever. JMO.
I do agree that people on both sides of this issue gain nothing by using ridiculous references to the holocaust, as well as personal attacks on each other.
