Who is Financing the Celebs' New Elector Swaying Video?

America's favorite progressive celebs are out in full force, featured in their new video which asks Republican electors to be "heroes" and vote against Trump. Aligned with groups such as the Hamilton Electors (who ask people to wear Hillary Purple at their local rallies), you will find all of the usual leftist financing and organizing behind it. (Video is HERE, if you have not seen it.)

At the end of the video, it tells us the video was paid for by "Americans Take Action". Upon visiting their site, you will find NO real information about who they are. This is true of so many of these activist sites, who try to make visitors think they are "just folks" and give absolutely no information on who they really are:

We are just regular everyday Americans – engineers and teachers, activists and lawyers, trade unionists and professionals, scientists and nurses – who believe in making a difference, having an impact, and leaving the planet a little better off than how we found it. As practical people, whenever we face a challenge, Americans take action to fix it.

However, they inadvertently give it away when you visit the site of their current campaign to dump Trump, which they call December 19. This is where they are attempting to organize rallies nationwide:

We the People will come together at every state capitol across the United States to call on the Electors of the Electoral College to listen to the voice of the people and refuse to cast their ballots for Donald Trump.

Their related effort from Unite for America asks participants to wear Hillary Purple to these events. (In case you wondered why Hillary and her entourage wore purple at her concession speech, now you know):

Wear purple as a symbol of both sides of the aisle, Red and Blue, coming together to stop Trump and protect our nation.

They are encouraging electors to vote for Kasich in Trump's place.

The December19 page has a donation form at the bottom of the page, where it is clear that donations will process through the Action Network. You will see here that the Action Network is the premiere organizing tool for just about every progressive movement out there. The home page talks bout their tools for Netroots Nation and the New Organizing Institute (now "Wellstone Action"). Further exploring shows further partnerships, including AFL-CIO, United We dream and the Daily Kos.

Take it a step further by visiting their Corporate Action Network, and you finally begin to get some actual names and associations behind all of this. Their "team" page shares bios of people with resumes full of working for SEIU, Soros' Center for American Progress, Elizabeth Warren and John Kerry.

Along with the already known players that include Lawrence Lessig, Van Jones, and former Dem operative and  La Raza alum  Polly Baca, it is abundantly clear exactly what this is all about.

As the movement develops to try to change the rules at the GOP convention, the players involved become more obvious as people we have seen working together before, for an Article V/ConCon convention of states.

It has been reported that the Convention of States concept originated with Ned and Drew Ryun of American Majority. Ned and Drew are the sons of former U.S. Representative Jim Ryun, who is currently with The Madison Project, a fundraising effort for conservative candidates. American Majority was funded "above 75 percent" by the Sam Adams Alliance, Eric O'Keefe's (no longer active) conservative think tank. Eric O'Keefe (former director of the National Libertarian Party) and Leo Linbeck III also happen to be partners in both the formation of Citizens for Self Governance and their own super PAC, Campaign for Primary Accountability. Citizens for Self Governance is the source of the Convention of States effort.
With the Ryun's close ties to Michael Farris, it is no wonder that he would be in the position of leading this effort. Ned founded Generation Joshua, which Farris put into action through his Home School Legal Defense Association.

Ted enters high school, the Free Enterprise Institute organizes a group of five kids, called them the Constitutional Corroborators, now Ted is reading the The Federalist Papers, The Anti-Federalist Papers, and each of the five kids memorized the entire US Constitution.

He did, however, neglect to note that the Free Enterprise Institute is a project of Texas builder billionaire Leo Linbeck, III, and that Ted Cruz serves as Trustee of that organization. He is in august company, with fellow trustees ranging from powerful Texas Republicans to billionaires and bankers. It appears that the junior senator from Texas has connections in high places, and that his high school passion has paid off handsomely for him.

The Christian Post's Anti-Trump Declaration: They May Have Left Out a Few Relevant Details

The Blaze, this weekend, made a point of making sure their readers were aware that The Christian Post had clearly advised Christians not to vote for Donald Trump, citing the CP article where the editorial staff tears him apart. Glenn Beck, as we know, is an active Ted Cruz endorser and campaigner, so it is not surprising that The Blaze has highlighted many anti-Trump pieces from The Christian Post. Although there is certainly nothing wrong with anyone's political opinions being expressed, there are a few things that could be coloring those opinions that people should be aware of. Cruz campaign workers and pro-amnesty activism were not mentioned in this Christian Post article, but these are clearly relevant.

The CP article begins this way, noting that this is a first for them:

Editors' Note: The Christian Post has not taken a position on a political candidate before today. We are making an exception because Trump is exceptionally bad and claims to speak for and represent the interests of evangelicals.

We the senior editors of The Christian Post encourage our readers to back away from Donald Trump.

Some of the "Christian leaders" mentioned by name in their article, with links to their own Trump attacking articles, also happen to be Cruz endorsers or are actually working for the campaign. There is not a thing wrong with that, but it would certainly motivate them to encourage voters not to vote for the opponent. Among those mentioned:

Dr. Michael Brown, well known radio show host and activist officially endorsed Cruz.

Kristi Burton Brown is Cruz campaign county co-chair in Colorado. She is an editor for Live Action News, an op-ed contributor to the Christian Post, a county co-chair for Ted Cruz in Colorado, and an Associate Scholar for the pro-life think tank, Charlotte Lozier Institute.

What might be of much more concern is that many on The Christian Post editorial/advisory board, as well as a few others named in their article, have been quite active with the very progressive and Soros funded  "Evangelical Immigration Table," which is a pro-amnesty movement that had worked hard with Obama to push through "immigration reform."  Jim Wallis is also one of the biggest activists in this movement. Considering that Trump's biggest issue has been his intent to fight amnesty and see that we have serious border enforcement, it is clear that his agenda is as far from theirs as it could be.

"Democracy Spring" is Just the Newest Label on an Old Package - ConCon's Lessig is At It Again

It was not a surprise, after reading the story on Breitbart.com about "the largest civil disobedience action of the century", to find that Professor Lawrence Lessig is one of the main coordinators of this planned action. Although using Trump as the excuse-of-the-day, Lessig never misses any opportunity to push for his version of campaign finance reform, which was what his support of a Constitutional Convention/Convention of States with Mark Meckler,Michael Farris and others was all about.

Democracy Spring, according to Breitbart.com: "some of the same radical groups involved in shutting down Donald Trump's Chicago rally last week are plotting a mass civil disobedience movement to begin next month." Well, of course, they are the same groups. They are always the same. Most of these sponsoring groups are also behind the Leftist's version of a ConCon, among them, Lessig's Rootstrikers, Cenk Uygar and his Wolf Pack as well as Medea Benjamin's Code Pink. You will see many of the same here on their MoveToAmend site.Why? Campaign finance reform. Anyone who cannot figure out that reform they want will ensure their power indefinitely is naive, indeed. Why do you think Obama was so furious with the SCOTUS ruling on that topic? It's a vital part of their vision.

So, what has this to do with Trump? Nothing (as he has not even taken big PAC money for his campaign). He is just their latest rallying point for the same push they have always had. Using the current high voltage emotions in the campaign season, they are pushing the very same things with a new label.

Article V Conventions, "No Labels,” Trump, and the Constitution: Who Do You Trust?

As we have tried to present in the past, many of the coordinators of the various Article V Convention efforts are far from conservative. Although they present themselves as great, conservative defenders of freedom to conservative and Tea Party groups nationwide, their backgrounds and intermingling with far left groups tells a different story.

A fine example of this happened Monday morning at the No Labels Convention in New Hampshire, where candidates including Donald Trump were invited to speak. Breitbart News correctly identified the No Labels group with their headline, "Donald Trump Defends Tea Party to Left Leaning Crowd". Trump was questioned by the crowd about the Tea Party, funding Planned Parenthood and his stance on women. When he gave the following response, he was audibly booed by the crowd (via Breitbart):


“I love the Tea Party,” Trump responded when an audience member asked about his thoughts on the Tea Party and the House Freedom Caucus, as well as the possibility of a government shutdown over defunding Planned Parenthood.

“These are people in all fairness, these are people that love this country. They do love this country and they want the country to be great,” Trump defended. “They don’t want Planned Parenthood funded… I understand that.”


Clearly, this crowd is far from conservative and no fans of the Tea Party or conservative values, yet No Labels co-founder Mark McKinnon was a key part of the Compact for America movement for a Constitutional Convention. Please refer back to our 2014 article, where we illustrated just who Mark McKinnon was, along with other Article V proponents including Lawrence Lessig and Mark Meckler.


Those who are truly familiar with these people and the No Labels group certainly know them to be far from conservative. Rush Limbaugh has been onto them for years. This is a bit of how he described them on today's radio show:


You know the No Labels group?  The No Labels group is basically a bunch of Republican liberals.  They are Republicans who don't like conservatives, and they don't want to be associated with conservatism.  They want to be seen as intellectually elite, scholarly, superior, and they love being thought of as moderates.


They're calling it the Problem Solvers convention.  The No Labels Problem Solvers convention.  The only problem they've ever solved is getting unemployed Republican strategists off the street.  And that's about it.


According to the Breitbart piece, Bryan McCormack would not attend for this reason:

Bryan McCormack, Executive Director at the Cornerstone Policy Research, a pro-family organization,  said he didn’t attend due to the ideology of those attending.

“We at Cornerstone decided not attend the No Labels conference due to the overwhelmingly liberal subject matter. We have to start looking at these groups for what they are, an infiltration of conservative ideals under the guise of a collaborative spirit,” McCormack told Breitbart News.


This is but one example of many. As we have attempted to convey in article after article about the Article V Convention/ConCon crowd, many of these people are far from who they appear to be. If you cannot believe in who they are and what they stand for, than how can you accept their scholarship and recommendations when it could change the very foundation of our nation? You can't.

FDR's "Court Packing" Scheme Now an Inspiration for the Convention of States

This past week's Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decisions were devastating to many, with many areas of grave concern. From homosexual marriage to Obamacare to voter ID, this was a very left-leaning court with decisions that may have dire consequences.

Never letting a crisis go to waste, enter the Convention of States (COS) team, always prepared with an Article V Convention solution for everything. This week, the latest reason for an Article V Convention has become judicial reform. Of course, that was always a goal of leftist radical Lawrence Lessig (adviser to the CFA effort for an Article V Convention), whose outrage over the SCOTUS decision on campaign finance reform has always been his #1 cause. We recall that Lessig was the one, along with the COS' Mark Meckler, who convened the ConConCon back in the fall of 2011 and got the movement rolling.

Among those writing on the recent decisions, with an Article V Convention as the answer, of course, are Prof. Rob Natelson, Michael Farris, and others. What may be the most disturbing part of this comes from the article written by Michael Farris, where he actually suggests using the FDR "court packing" scheme:

FDR's solution to this problem was to limit the power of the individual justices by his famous court-packing scheme. He would increase the number of seats on the Supreme Court—they were old and over-worked and needed help. Armed with new appointments to make, FDR could remake the Court in his own image to achieve his desired political results.

Farris goes on to suggest a few ways something like this could work, using "superior political tactics."

My favorite is to follow FDR's court-packing idea but with vigor. Every state should be allowed to appoint a member of the Supreme Court. They could serve for a brief term, perhaps eight years. Removing Supreme Court appointments and confirmations from Washington, DC, is the only realistic way to ensure true judicial independence. Otherwise, you get the power cabal that we have in place which was clearly in play in this week's Obamacare decision. If Congress messes up, don't worry, the Supreme Court has got your back to preserve the relentless march towards the centralization of power.

Of course, all of these changes will require a constitutional amendment. And it would be naïve in the extreme to believe that Congress would propose an amendment to take away the power of their partners in power aggregation.

The only way these kind of changes can be made is through an Article V Convention of States. The Founders told us that there would come a day when the federal government would abuse its power. When that day arose, the States needed the ability to rein in the abuse of federal power by constitutional means.

Even in desperate times, is it the right move to encourage "court packing" and other schemes? If an Article V Convention is meant to correct past mistakes and corruption, should they be using the same underhanded, controlling tactics that FDR tried many years ago? Even many of FDR's supporters at the time refused to go along with it, and he was not able to get it passed. From "Enter Stage Right" magazine:

Everyone claimed some measure of victory. But in the end, the American people won the most because the Senate did exactly what its Judiciary Committee had recommended. The Senate "so emphatically rejected" FDR's court-packing scheme that no similar plan ever has been, or likely ever will be, "presented to the free representatives of the free people of America."

Apparently, Michael Farris and the people at the Convention of States beg to differ.

  On June 5th, protests took place all around the US as well as overseas against Child Protective Services (CPS) and promoting the passage of the Parental Rights Amendment. A more planned follow up event is coming in August. The amendment was authored by Michael Farris, founder of ParentalRights.org, where he serves on the board along with Grover Norquist. According to the many promotional pages on Facebook, craigslist posts and Twitter posts, objectives of the protest were:

Our objective:
*Repeal Adoptions and Safe Families Act of 1997
*Compensation for wrongfully involved families
*Full FBI investigation of CPS/family courts
*The passing of the Parental Rights Amendment
*Transparency in Family Court
*Legal Accountability of CPS

Most people would agree that there are serious problems with CPS, from both extremes. We have heard of cases where children were unfairly taken from parents as well as many cases where problems were reported and CPS did not act when they should have. Oversight and reform is needed, and few would argue that point. However, if the ParentalRights organization is knowingly teaming up with Occupiers and hacktivists to fight their battles, they are putting us all at risk. There is no doubt that the hacktivist movement has consisted of anarchists and Marxists. Is this the type of solution we are looking for? Do they think this is wise, to work on issues together with people of such radical ideology?

An email inquiry to parentalrights.org received a response from Michael Ramey, their Director of Communications & Research, stating that they were not the sponsors of this event, but they did give permission for their website to be used in the promotions.

"We gave them permission to use our name, since passage of the Parental Rights Amendment is among their primary goals. In that respect, we certainly stand with them."

We have seen this coalition with radical Leftists from Michael Farris and his fellow Convention of States Article V proponents before, and it has caused much concern among many conservatives. As argued here when it regarded Farris and the Convention of States working with radical groups, is there no limit to who you are willing to work with, or is the agenda all that matters? It seems only two conclusions can be drawn from these repeated coalitions. Either very questionable judgement is being used, or these Libertarian "conservatives" may not be conservatives at all.

Strange Article V - ConCon Connections Just Keep on Coming

In previous articles here and here, we have learned of many associations with the leaders of the Article V Convention of States movement which have caused concern for many. In the last few weeks, some of the main architects of this movement testified before a Texas legislative committee, including Michael Farris, Sen. Tom Coburn, Nick Dranias, Mike Stern and Roman Buhler. Just one dissenting voice was included from Pat Carlson of the Texas Eagle Forum, whose concerns were quickly dismissed. Heading this committee was Texas Representative Phil King, who also happens to be the National Chairperson for ALEC. As we have learned previously, ALEC has been instrumental in promoting an Article V Convention.

By no coincidence, many of the same participants promoted the Article V to the January 2015 meeting of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), founded by well known Texas political activist and former founder of KCI, James Leininger. TPPF is part of the national State Policy Network (SPN), which has also been previously discussed in connection with those promoting the COS:

The State Policy Network's (SPN) 2010 meeting encompassed many of these same names, including Drew Ryun, Leo Linbeck III, Nick Dranias (Compact for America's Article V director), Eric O'Keefe, as well as representation from the Texas Public Policy Foundation (part of the SPN) founded by James Leininger. Among the presentations there was one on the Constitutional amendment process by Nick Dranias as well as information and handouts from Ned Ryun on engaging the Tea Party, with some extensive market research on the Tea Party provided. This would certainly help them to "sell" things to Tea Party groups, using the issues and language they know Tea Parties respond to.

As we continue to see ties to the same organizations and Libertarian network, one promoter we have not yet discussed is Roman Buhler. A participant in the original ConConCon convention put together by Lawrence Lessig and Mark Meckler, Mr. Buhler is also an attorney, a Washington lobbyist, on the board of the Advance Arkansas Institute (also part of the SPN) where his Madison Amendment (founded with Edwin Meese) approach is promoted.  He is on the board of the "Rebuild America Campaign", integrated with the MacPherson Investment Group website, where their website slogan is "Invest in the Second American Revolution!" They link to additional projects such as American Revival. His Madison Amendment is listed as one of their projects:

It  has the support of a broad spectrum of political leaders including former Comptroller General of the U.S. David M. Walker, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, McCain 2008 chair Charlie Black, former House Appropriations Chair Bob Livingston, American Conservative Union Chair Al Cardenas, David Keating, Colin Hanna, Lew Uhler, David Keene, David McIntosh, Ted Cruz, Michael Farris, and state legislators in more than 20 states.

David Norcross, former General Counsel of the RNC, Bruce Ash, Chairman of the RNC Rules Committee, John Ryder, Chairman of the RNC Redistricting Committee, and Chuck Bell, Counsel to the CA Republican Party are among the Republican Party legal experts who support the Madison Amendment.

The Madison Amendment has been endorsed by other groups including ALEC (the American Legislative Exchange Council), the National Taxpayers Union, and the NY State Conservative Party.

In addition to investing, green projects and land acquisition, the MacPherson family of lawyers specialize in tax law, working with clients who have problems with tax evasion, offshore tax issues, "creative" ways to deal with impending foreclosures, etc. Examples of their business associations include being part of the Joe Francis legal team, when the "Girls Gone Wild" millionaire was facing IRS problems. They were also working with Maximilian Ferdinand Leopold Prinz von Anhalt of "adoptive"-royalty, promoting his real estate. He is also a lawyer who obtained his royal title after being "adopted" as an adult by Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Prince Frédéric of Anhalt. Apparently, Zsa Zsa's husband obtained his distinguished title the same way, in an adult adoption.

Dominionist theology is strongly indicated on the MacPherson site, both in the inclusion and writings of "common Law" lawyer Brent Allen Winters (see below) and some of their own content. The MacPherson sites are peppered with Biblical quotes and the MacPherson site recommends books by Christian Reconstructionist Gary North, well known Ron Paul associate, son-in-law of the late (Dominionist) R. J. Rushdoony, also something that has previously been linked to COS' Michael Farris. Other book recommendations include "That You May Prosper: Dominion by Covenant" by Ray Sutton. Sutton is referenced here by North in this article on Biblical resistance to civil authority and highly recommended on North's website as part of their Christian Reconstructionist reading list.

One of the links included on their "American Vision Magazine" site (right hand column) is to common law lawyer Brent Allan Winters. Winters has been a guest on David Barton's Wallbuilders radio show discussing "common law". His writings include topics such as common law, the Abrahamic covenant, asset protection and Ron Paul, so we are again seeing the combination of Libertarian and Christian Reconstructionist ideas.

After learning about the focus on tax issues and dominionism, we also find that Don MacPherson is listed on "Who's Who in the Freedom Movement" by a sovereign citizen movement called Sovereign Education and Defense Ministries.

The strange intertwining of big money interests, Dominionism, Common Law interpretations and Libertarian networks (and royalty-by-adoption??) continues to repeat itself as we look at the main spokespeople for an Article V Convention of States. It is time to start giving some serious thought to what the real end goal is.

The Reinventors of America and Why You Need to Know

Among the infinite number of progressive and Soros funded foundations and think tanks, one active effort you may not be familiar with is hard at work, coming up with ways to "reinvent" your world in every aspect. The Reinventors Network, founded and operated by Peter Leyden, hosts roundtable discussions on every subject for reinvention under the sun, from immigration to civil rights to journalism to the Constitution to food control, bringing in some of the biggest progressive activists around. It is not shocking or new that a group on any side of the political spectrum would be brainstorming ideas. What is of concern with this group are the people involved and the actual enacting of these ideas that is already taking place. They plan to rock your world.

Article V COS Supporters, You Are Being Blatantly Deceived

You can ignore the opposing legal opinions, you can discount other conservative writers and organizations who are trying to reveal to truth, but can you ignore blatant lying and veiling of the truth from your movement leadership?

George Soros' Latest Social Justice Tool: Ebola

Looks like Obama and the CDC are not the only ones dismissive of quarantines and flight restrictions, as it concerns the spread of Ebola. Their constant talking points always suggest the only way to contain the problem is by addressing it in Africa, not here. Over and over we have heard this.

Then is it any surprise or coincidence that George Soros' Open Society and World Bank want no quarantines. This early October video from the Open Society Foundation features Dr. Paul Farmer, "Looking past quarantine to community health" as they put it:

As the spread of Ebola continues to unfold, new health and economic challenges will emerge.
But as Dr. Paul Farmer, CEO of Partners in Health, discusses above, we won't be able to keep up with the epidemic without invoking a human rights model.

Note the interesting point of view expressed by Dr. Farmer in the video:

"With the empathy that you're reading about now, put it in place and
cement it in place. If there were a right to some basic services, I mean, really, a right for everybody, it would be less easy for epidemics like this to spread."

This verbiage is to be expected from Dr. Farmer, who has often expressed that health care is a human right.

Vile Videos Exploit Children But Sell a Lot of T-Shirts

Multiple news outlets were talking about a video today titled “F-Bombs for Feminism”, which features an array of cute little girls, all dressed up in their princess outfits, throwing out the f-bomb left and right. In this “feminist” presentation, the children tell us how exploited women are in every way, count which one of them is going to get raped, etc. It is impossible to imagine what kind of parent would allow their children to be featured in a video like this. The most disgusting part of it all is that it is disguised as a “movement”….a “cause” by the site FCKH8.com. In reality, it is an opportunity for them to capitalize on any cause they grab onto to sell a boatload of t-shirts.

The owner, Luke Montgomery, has quite a history of exploiting children and every cause that comes along to sell t-shirts. Using young children and teens in most of his videos with similar language, he promotes all the wonderful organizations that a portion of sales will go to. Among his many causes, Luke has also done videos promoting anti-gay bullying in school, pro-gay marriage, hating on Chik-fil-A and the Gulf oil spill. Of course, there are t-shirt designs for each and every cause and the F-bomb seems to be an intregal part of every campaign. Many of the older sites set up for various causes seem to have disappeared as soon as the next cause comes along. He seems quite willing to continue to use children and teens as the spewers of vile propaganda whenever it results in some new t-shirt sales.

The Better Business Bureau does not seem impressed with his business model, where he rates an “F”.
Disgusting as it is, what is just as disturbing is the celebrity kudos he claims to have gotten. They proudly share some of this on their “About” page:

T-shirts emblazoned with bold messages like “Some Chicks Marry Chicks, Get Over It,” “Straight Against Hate,” and ”Legalize Love” have been publicly talked about by celebrities including Jane Lynch, Adam Lambert, Perez Hilton, and Zac Efron – who’s raved about his own “Some Dudes Marry Dudes, Get Over It” shirt in the press. Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi even have their own pink “Some Chicks Marry Chicks, Get Over It” buttons.

Be Young and Shut Up expands on this:

It emerged out of the controversy following California’s Proposition 8, which was on the ballot in 2008 to repeal same sex marriage. Now some years later, with over 300,000 likes on Facebook, over 40,000 Twitter followers, and endorsements from Jane Lynch, Dan Savage, and the eighth horcrux Zefron, the organization has become fairly recognizable for its mainstream progressive stance on LGBT issues.

Wendy Davis and Ferguson Agitators Sharing the Same Financial Backing

We have explored many of the usual radical, Pro-Palestinian and union organizers behind the continued stoking of unrest in Ferguson, with this past weekend’s #FergusonOctober “Weekend of Resistance” as their latest effort. There is clearly a lot of money behind it, but curious to find that a big backer happens to also be a big backer of Texas candidate for Governor, Wendy Davis.

Here’s a video from PowerPAC, one of the organizers who gave a generous donation towards our call for a paid organizer to be on the ground in Ferguson.

PowerPAC Plus is a large and powerful PAC that claims to have been instrumental in the 2008 election of Barack Obama. Considering their claim below, it does appear they were certainly well rewarded for their efforts:

PowerPAC+ is a political action committee formed in 2012 to build the political power of America’s multiracial majority. It emerged from the groundbreaking work of Vote Hope in 2007-08. At that time, then-Senator Barack Obama was assembling his Presidential campaign and California’s primary moved from June to a more influential month, February. We created Vote Hope, the first super-PAC aimed at supporting Barack Obama’s bid for president. Vote Hope was the largest independent effort in the nation to increase voter turnout in communities of color. It drew in $10 million, and expanded to 18 states during the primary season.

After President Obama’s election, we set up a DC office and worked closely with the administration’s personnel staff to build a Diversity Talent Bank that the White House used to identify and hire more than 60 people including Associate Attorney General Tony West. [emphasis mine]

PowerPAC Plus currently backs a variety of November candidates, with one of their most promoted being Wendy Davis. Wendy has been one of their picks for quite awhile, as they also supported her during her campaign for Texas State Senate:

PowerPAC+ was proud to support her last year in her run for State Senate. Now Davis is running for Governor in 2014, and she is the leader best-positioned to translate the enthusiasm in Texas into real political power.

As Texas is one of their main target states, getting Wendy elected is a crucial part of that strategy. Focusing on the cities with the largest minority non-voting populations is another. They see the Latino vote as instrumental in pushing Wendy across the finish line, as outlined here.

In Final Weeks, Wendy Davis’ Campaign Hinges on Engaging Latinos

PowerPAC Plus believes in uniting various minority groups in an effort to become the majority as a whole, or as they put it, “PowerPAC+ builds the political power of the multiracial majority.” Apparently, they also feel pretty strongly about continuing to fan the flames in Ferguson, no matter the consequences. If it can get the end result they want, despite the destruction and violence it takes, it appears “the end justifies the means” once again. Their close ties to this administration are troubling. Their endorsement and financial support of Wendy Davis should set off alarm bells for Texas voters.

Ferguson Organizing Weekend: Pro-Palestinian Groups Join Usual Cast of Characters to Incite More Violence

This coming weekend, Breitbart and others have reported on a new "Weekend of Resistance" planned in Ferguson, uniting the pro-Palestinian activists with the Ferguson activists. At first, you might wonder what these two movements would have in common, but they can explain that easily:

• Friday, October 10th: Panel discussion exploring the intersections of U.S. police practices and militarization around the world, including in Palestine.
• Saturday, October 11th: Large national march at the historic old St. Louis courthouse (where Dred Scott was denied his freedom) with Palestine support contingent.
• Monday, October 13th: Action focused on a target highlighting intersections of militarized policing in Ferguson and Palestine.

However, the more complex network behind this event might indicate that it is never about the real issue, but always turns out to be the same anti-capitalist radicals we find behind every faux movement.

Exactly Who is ‘In Defense of Christians’?

Much has been written over the last few days about Ted Cruz’s appearance at the first summit of a new organization, “In Defense of Christians.” The organization is working to form an alliance of  leaders to preserve and protect some of the world’s oldest Christian groups. What may be most curious about this organization is how they are now covering up exactly who makes up their board.
The incident in the news that brought this group front and center occurred as the result of Cruz walking away from the podium after stating that those who will not stand with our ally, Israel, will not have his support. You can view more here. His attempt to suggest that all religious bigotry (including anti-semitism) was a problem did not seem welcome to some in this audience. Watching his preliminary words before he left the stage helps put it in context.
Among the many opinions out there, Mark Tooley and his commenters appear to be aware of the political and nationalist aspect of being a Mideast Christian, which helps clarify the reaction to Cruz from some of the audience:

It’s no secret that many Mideast Christians generally aren’t big fans of Israel. I learned this firsthand during the 2006 Israel war on Hezbollah, when my discussion at church with a Lebanese Christian nearly escalated to a shouting match.
Sometimes American Christians romanticize overseas persecuted Christians into disembodied noble souls unaffected by terrestrial concerns. But they, like everybody else, have histories, loyalties, resentments, grievances, and political calculations. Generally, most Mideast Christians cannot further imperil themselves by ever seeming politically to sympathize with Israel or the West. But their notions are not just for appearances. Many Mideast Christians are Arab nationalists. And whether for survival or genuine sympathy, some church leaders over the years have aligned with repressive regimes, like Assad’s and Saddam’s.

Mideast Christians, in other words, are not necessarily planning to ever be on board with Israel and may very well continue to align with terrorist groups and leaders as they see fit.
