History Channel - FAIL- Yet Again

I am sure a lot of you have taken notice of the downhill slide of the History Channel. They used to actually have interesting programming. It has gradually moved into conjecture and opinion presented as fact. They have presented countless documentaries attempting to discredit Christianity and its' symbols as well as many once-respected historic figures.

Next week (Dec. 13), they will present a documentary called "The People Speak", from socialist Howard Zinn, featuring the always delightful Danny Glover, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, Bruce Springsteen and more. No agenda there...

Howard Zinn hopes to move his own special brand of Hate America revisionist history from the college level all the way down to pre-K. You can read all about it on Big Hollywood here:
.chttp://bighollywood.breitbartom/pcourrielche/2009/12/07/next-week-on-the-history-channel-hollywood-stars-introduce-your-kids-to-marxism/

We have made it clear to our sons that the History Channel is NOT an objective and accurate source, and it is a shame that many people will never realize this. In my opinion, it is immoral and unethical to use their platform to push agendas and rewrite history, and they do it constantly. Please get the word out that this documentary will be far from accurate, and is actually promoting socialism/Marxism.

Here is a little something from the creator, Howard Zinn, published on July 4, 2007:

On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.

Is not nationalism -- that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder -- one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?

These ways of thinking -- cultivated, nurtured, indoctrinated from childhood on -- have been useful to those in power, and deadly for those out of power.

National spirit can be benign in a country that is small and lacking both in military power and a hunger for expansion (Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica and many more). But in a nation like ours -- huge, possessing thousands of weapons of mass destruction -- what might have been harmless pride becomes an arrogant nationalism dangerous to others and to ourselves.

Our citizenry has been brought up to see our nation as different from others, an exception in the world, uniquely moral, expanding into other lands in order to bring civilization, liberty, democracy.

New Attack on Christmas the Worst Yet: Updated

In past years, there have been complaints on the "attack on Christmas", especially with stores refusing to acknowledge the holiday in their ads. This year it's gone way past that.

Yesterday it was Mrs. Claus sleeping with a snowman and today it's Rude Frosty. Radicals are telling us not to celebrate Christmas due to the environment and humanists are running ads on buses to defeat Christmas. (Links to each of these below.)

I'm sorry, but I think this is more than a matter of bad taste. It appears to be an all out assault on the religious holiday, tearing down any and every symbol of it. We should all be screaming. Even those who are not Christians should be screaming at this assault on the culture and on their children.

Either the media no longer has any sense of morality or they are doing this in a conscious effort to destroy the innocence and wonder of a religious holiday. Either way, it's not a good thing.

Secularist- http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/120308_Metro_fields_hundreds_of_complaints_about_bus_ads.html

Christians must stand up now while they still can, and those who are not Christians might want to think about joining them, before the next group to be attacked like this is yours.

UPDATE: Here's another little gem to add to the list; "Santa Claus is Coming Out" on Broadway, where Santa has a relationship with toymaker Geppeto:

Teleprompters May Run for Office in the Near Future

Why do we really even need actual people to run for office? Why not skip a step and just elect a teleprompter?

What Homeland Security?

http://tinyurl.com/ykaqs6p

Our Homeland Security chief was in Saudi Arabia this weekend, explaining how she is working to protect Muslims from backlash.
Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't she be here in the US, worrying about how to protect our troops from terrorist attacks?
Needless to say, I do not want to see anyone harrassed unfairly, but so far there has been no evidence of this. The media and administration seems entirely focused on this and will not even call it "terrorism". A killer is being painted as someone with PTSD rather than a terrorist.
Anyone with common sense needs to start asking what is going on here?

Obama Uses Ft. Hood to Get Bill Passed

Just read this morning that Obama used Ft. Hood to put a guilt trip on representatives to pass this bill. "Real" Americans die for their country, as in Ft. Hood, and are not afraid to vote for something, even if it might cost them reelection.
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20091108/D9BR59EO0.html
"Participants also said Obama had referred to this week's shooting rampage at Fort Hood, Texas, in which 13 people were killed. His remarks put in perspective that the hardships soldiers endure for the country are "what sacrifice really is," as opposed to "casting a vote that might lose an election for you," said Rep. Robert Andrews, D-N.J."
I can't imagine having the nerve to use this tragic event to pass a bill that Americans overwhelmingly reject. They know no bounds.

On Being Judgmental

I think it's been incredibly hard for many of us to fight being judgmental in today's polarized world. This quote might be helpful, as it was to me:

“It is a fearful thing to hate whom God hath loved. To look upon another his weaknesses, his sins, his faults, his defects is to look upon one who is suffering. He is suffering from negative passions, from the same sinful human corruption from which you yourself suffer. This is very important: do not look upon him with judgmental eyes of comparison, noting the sins you assume you’d never commit. Rather, see him as a fellow sufferer, a fellow human being who is in need of the very healing of which you are in need. Help him, love him, pray for him do unto him as you would have him do unto you.”
–Attributed to St. Tikhon of Zadonsk (1724 – 1783)

Misleading Posts About Beck in Attempt to Justify Their "Hate Speech" Argument

RE: Our post about churches promoting the Obama agenda and accusing others of hate speech, I see that many are using the following type of headlines such as this one, "Glenn Beck compares Fox News to Holocaust victims". These false posts are all over the internet.
This is a ridiculous and twisted take on what he actually said. The word "holocaust" was never used and the meaning of what he said was very different. His point was that if we allow others to be shut down and freedom of speech to be taken, then we may be the next victims. Anyone who has seen it knows this was the point, and are obviously trying to smear him. Watch the video and judge for yourself:
